MARKEN & VOLENDAM TOUR (Excursions Amsterdam)

 

This tour shows the world-famous fishing villages of Volendam and Marken – on the coast of the former Zuiderzee (now called Ijselmeer). With its wooden houses and locals wearing their colourful style of dress. On the way, we will stop at one of the most famous cheese farm where the cheese is still made in the traditional way. GRAND HOLLAND TOUR ( Excursions Amsterdam)

The excursion begins with Rotterdam, the second largest city of the Netherlands. As its city center was all rebuilt after the German Luftwaffe’s bombings in World War II, it’s characterized by its contemporary and fascinating architecture. Rotterdam’s harbor, among the largest and busiest in the world, constitutes an indispensable gateway to Europe. Don’t forget to take your picture of the famous “Swan Bridge” and “Euromast”!

The next stop is at the picturesque town of Delft. It turned into a leading city when William of Orange – at the head of the Dutch revolt against the Spanish occupation – settled there in the 16th century. From Delft you drive to The Hague. Even though the city – the third largest in The Netherlands – is not the capital, the Dutch government is established there. Moreover, Queen Beatrix resides and works there. The foreign embassies are situated in The Hague a well and it houses the International Court of Justice and the International Crime Court. During your visit to Madurodam, you’ll discover Holland in miniature and you’ll be able to recognize several of the country’s most remarkable highlights (very suitable for children).
